A LAW firm with offices in Reading and Wokingham has appointed a new partner to its dispute resolution team.
Angela Bowman, who has more than 20 years of experience in dealing with wills, probate and trusts claims, has joined Blandy & Blandy, which also has offices in Henley.
A member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), she was named Contentious Solicitor of the Year in the inaugural ACTAPS awards in 2013.
She was also shortlisted in the first year of the Women in Law Awards in 2020, in the categories of Litigator of the Year and Legal Adviser of the Year.
Angela is recommended in Chambers UK and named as a leading individual in The Legal 500, in Contentious Trusts and Probate and Charities and Not-for-Profit work.
In The Legal 500 she is described as “a towering figure in the charities and not-for-profit sector for a couple of decades now, acting for almost all the leading national charities in their contentious probate cases”, while Chambers UK credits her as being “an amazing lawyer in the charities field.”
Angela joins Blandy & Blandy from a top-tier national law firm where she was a partner and joint national head of charities and head of the Southern Probate Litigation team.
Prior to that, she spent 20 years at a leading regional law firm, where she was a partner and head of the Charity Probate Litigation team.
Ms Bowman said: “I’m so excited to be joining Blandy & Blandy and am looking forward to working alongside the firm’s award-winning private client team, which will complement my contentious probate work for charities and private individuals.”
David Murray, partner and head of the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, said: “We are delighted to welcome Angela to the firm and particularly the Dispute Resolution Team.
“She is vastly experienced and very highly regarded in her field.
“We are looking forward to the opportunities arising from Angela working alongside our leading Wills, Probate, Tax and Trusts team.”
