Colleagues and guests celebrated International Women’s Day at a ‘sell-out’ event hosted by law firm Blandy & Blandy on 10 March.

The event, held at Reading Town Hall, welcomed guest speaker Fiona Devine MBE, CEO and founder of local charity Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service ,based in Maidenhead.

In Fiona’s talk, titled ‘An Extraordinary Little Boy’, she explained: “A mother’s love does not end when her child’s life does. It becomes something quieter, deeper, and fiercely unbreakable.

I stand here today not because my heart is whole, but because even in loss, women find a way to lift others. My story is one of grief, but also of resilience, and of the power we hold when we turn our pain into purpose.”

She added: “We are incredibly grateful to Blandy & Blandy for choosing Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service as a charity partner and for their ongoing support, including providing me with this platform to share my story and continue Alexander’s beautiful legacy.
