SHEFIELD UNITED player John Fleck was taken to hospital after he colapsed during the team’s game against Reading last night.

The midfielder was on the pitch at the Select Car Leasing Stadium during the team’s 1-0 win over the Royals.

He fell to the ground, and received treatment on the pitch.

Although he stood up before coming off the pitch, he was taken in a stretcher and then taken for medical treatment at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Play was stopped for more than 10 minutes.

The Blades manager Slaviša Jokanović said that the Scottish international player was in good hands, and is expected to be OK.

“Fleck is conscious, in the hospital, he’s in good health. He will be OK,” Jokanovic told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“I didn’t see exactly what happened,” he added. “One moment he fell down. It was a really complicated situation.

“He is conscious in hospital and he asked for the result. We hope everything will be OK with him.”

And Royals boss Velijko Paunovic said that Fleck’s collapse had been “so horrible” and wished a swift recovery.
