AN AFTERNOON of big band fun will help raise funds for charity next weekend.
The Kennet branch of Save The Children is hosting its Midsummer Music event on Sunday, June 26.
Starting from noon, the event will see The Clive Fortune Big Band perform a mixture of classics, jazz stands and tunes from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. There will also be some contemporary numbers.
Support comes from singer-songwriter Liza Marshall and Shane and Alex.
The event is more than just music. It includes a real ale bar, a hog roast, raffles and activities for children.
It takes place at Little Manor, Church Lane, Burghfield Village, RG30 3TG
Tickets are £12.50 in advance or £15 on the door and under 16s are free.
