THREE new trustees have joined a charity dedicated to helping the county’s youngsters.

Berkshire Youth says it is an exciting time, as they welcome to its board Jo Halliday, Tamzin Evershed and Guy Constant.

The new trustees are looking forward to bringing their knowledge and experience to the board.

Ms Halliday started her career in the pharmaceutical industry before switching to education and served as executive headteacher of Theale Green School.

“I am determined that all children should have equity of opportunity and I am delighted to be able to support Berkshire Youth in their mission,” she said.

Mr Constant is a solicitor who has been practising in Reading for more than 30 years.

“Young people are our future, and I am looking forward to collaborating with the team at Berkshire Youth to help young people be the best they can be,” he said.

Ms Evershed is a solicitor and global General Counsel for Honeywell’s Cyber and Connected Industrials business. Prior to joining Honeywell, Tamzin was Chief Privacy Officer at American Express Global Business Travel.

“I was looking for an opportunity to use my skills and experience and do something that would benefit and make a tangible difference for young people,” she said.

Sarah Atkinson, who chairs Berkshire Youth’s board of trustees, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jo, Tamzin and Guy to Berkshire Youth. Their range of skills and experience further strengthens our board in many areas.

“Young people need us now more than ever.

“We have to continue to evolve our services and offerings as well as better engage local organisations and the business community to further support young people, their families and communities in Berkshire.

“Everyone has a role to play in helping young people today.”

Berkshire Youth Chief Executive, Sarah Emery, said: “This is a very exciting time for Berkshire Youth, and I am in no doubt that the new trustees’ expertise and enthusiasm will help us to continue to develop our organisation over the next few years, ensuring we progress our offer to young people and communities across Berkshire.”
