Berkshire Vision is proud to announce that it has been recognised at the 2025 Charity Heroes Awards, held at the iconic Tower of London. The ceremony brought together inspirational leaders, fundraisers, trustees, and community champions whose work is transforming lives across the UK and Ireland.

Hosted by Dr Andy Cope of The Art of Brilliance, the event featured powerful speeches from solo adventurer Annasley Park, alongside Benefact Group CEO, Mark Hews. Finalists were joined by representatives from across the Benefact Group, who presented prizes to the winners.

Award Recognition

  • Partnership of the Year
  • Runner up, Berkshire Vision and Newbury Velo
  • Reason for recognition: Berkshire Vision has partnered with Newbury Velo to offer visually impaired and blind children the chance to experience cycling through tandem and wheelchair-accessible bikes. This initiative allows Blind and Visually impaired children, including those with complex needs or who are non-verbal, to experience the joy of riding a bike, building independence, confidence, and lasting memories. Supported by skilled volunteers, the sessions provide more than physical activity, they create joyful, life-affirming experiences. Families witness their children included, accomplished, and happy in ways they never imagined, making this transformative partnership a powerful example of inclusion in action.

“It was wonderful to have this partnership recognised nationally, highlighting the incredible impact of our work together in empowering visually impaired children and promoting inclusion through cycling.” – Laura Mitchell, CEO Berkshire Vision

The Charity Heroes Awards celebrate charities across the UK and Ireland who work tirelessly to make positive change. Organised by the Benefact Group, the awards shine a spotlight on unsung heroes in the charity sector and provide recognition, support, and a sense of community.
