A CHARITY can look forward to saving money, after being given some money.
Members of Pangbourne Rotary Club recently made a gift of £1,000 to the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre.
It will help its fundraising appeal to replace the windows and doors at the August End centre in Tilehurst.
It needs to raise £36,000 to carry out the renovations, which see modern, energy-efficient windows installed. This donation takes the MS centre to £14,000, meaning they are nearly halfway there.
Samantha Harper, fundraising manager for Berkshire MS Therapy Centre, said: “Replacing the windows will help us reduce the energy we need to use and will help us to save money from day one.
“As well as doing our bit for the environment, the replacements would result in greater energy efficiency, and hence reduced running costs, as well as increased security.
“This will help our local MS community for many years to come. We are very grateful to the Pangbourne Rotary Club for their generous support.”
She continued: “Donations towards the project received via The Good Exchange will be doubled by The Greenham Trust.”
Pangbourne Rotary Club welcomes new members. As well as social events, they organise fundraising activities including its forthcoming Woodcote 10k on Sunday, January 7.
