ON SUNDAY, Berkshire Motor Show returned to Prospect Park, brining classic cars, top-end trucks, and magnificent motors to Reading.
Fans of cars and motoring were treated to live musical performances, attractions, and the highly-anticipated car competition.
Organiser Steph Awbery said: “We were overwhelmed with the amount of people that attended; we had expected that many members of the public.
“We had so many turn up that there was a bit of a traffic jam in Reading: I felt very apologetic about that, but we weren’t able to control it unfortunately.”
The event also featured a special guest, she explained: “Ryan Paul Antony, who has a number of hair salons, jumped at the offer of being our event’s ambassador.
“Raising funds for charity is very close to his heart, and he’s a big lover of cars; he was very kind in making a donation, too.”
She continued: “A Rolls Royce took best in show, and it really was a lovely car, but they were all absolutely brilliant.
“They’re people’s pride and joy, which have been restored or worked on, so it was fantastic to have everyone’s cars at the show.”
Ms Awbery also extended her thanks to the sponsors of the event: “Our thanks go to West London Motor Group in Reading, Rogue Alloy for their donations, J. Mould for their kind donations, and Rogers Transport for letting us use one of their flatbeds for the stage.
“We also thank 4×4 Without a Club for their huge help setting up, and of course to Middlesex County Automobile Club for providing the radio.”
The full total of funds raised is still being counted, but they will go towards supporting a number of charities, including Berkshire Women’s Aid.
