The Berkshire Family History Society will be hosting a talk on the English in India from the early 1600s through to 1947 on Thursday, May 25 at 7.45pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tilehurst.
It will be given by Jeremy James Heath-Caldwell, a member of the Berkshire Family History Society, and cover the history of the East India Company, the British Raj, and the Indian independence movement. It will also discuss the impact of British rule on India, both positive and negative.
The talk is free for Berkshire Family History Society members and £5 for visitors. Doors open at 7.15pm. Free parking is available on site.
