THREE BANDS and plenty of beer will be coming to Caversham next month to help raise funds for charity.

The annual Caversham Rock ‘n’ Ale Festival is returning to Our Lady and St Anne’s School Playing Fields on Saturday, September 2.

This is the 11th year the event has been running, and in its time has raised a five-figure sum for the work of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Dino’s perform classic rock anthems from the 1980s onwards, The Skavengers will perform all kinds of 2 Tone and Trojan hits, and Rigsby perform an eclectic set list that includes songs from The Who, Oasis, The Faces, Arctic Monkeys.

The bar will be provided by the team from Caversham pub The Last Crumb, and there will be food for both meat eaters and vegetarians. There will also be entertainment for children.

The fun starts at the Washington Road school from 6.30pm, and tickets cost £14.30, or £5.50 for under 16s, including a booking fee. Under fives need a ticket but get in free.
