A CAR parked on a driveway in Tilehurst was set on fire last week, with the blaze spreading to the nearby house.
A man has been arrested, and police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The suspected arson took place between 10.30pm and 10.40pm on Tuesday, October 17, at an address in Addisombe Chase, off Knowsley Road.
Members of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service put out the blaze, which had spread to the front of the home.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
The man placed in custody is from Reading, and in his 40s. He was arrested on suspicion of arson and using a motor vehicle without insurance. He has been released on bail.
Thames Valley Police asks anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage and was in the area at the time to check their recordings in case it has captured something that could assist its investigation.
