An American barbecue restaurant chain with locations in Reading and the surrounding area has been closed down due to insolvency.
The Bluegrass BBQ was known for serving up authentic barbecue dishes such as pulled pork, ribs and brisket along with a range of desserts and drinks from independent breweries.
The chain had sites in Reading, Windsor and High Wycombe.
The small restaurant business has now been liquidated according to publicly available information.
The business entry on Companies House states that it has gone insolvent.
The winding up of the company began on Monday, January 27, and is being undertaken by practitioners Robert Cundy and Bijal Shah.
The Wix website for Bluegrass has been deleted.
Entries on Google state that the Windsor and High Wycombe sites are ‘permanently closed’ and the Reading site listed as ‘temporarily closed’.
An attempt was made to contact two people within the business but email deliveries failed.
Furthermore, the Autism Berkshire charity posted on Facebook that they have had to relocate their upcoming meet-up due to the closure.
The post states: “Due to the closure last week of the Bluegrass BBQ restaurant chain and its outlet in Reading, members of our 197 Club social group are advised that the next meeting, on Monday, February 17, will now take place at The Outlook pub and restaurant, in Kings Road, from 6pm.”
The company had scaled back its breakfast offer to weekends only for some time.
However, Bluegrass had introduced ‘state special dishes’ in an attempt to keep customers coming.
