READING is set to see a new creative space which will have everything an amateur haberdasher could want all sewn up in one place.
Reading Sewing Bee is set to bring a new dedicated space for textiles work to the town when it opens next week.
It will offer creatives a collaborative environment to work on their projects replete with tools and machines for fabric work, tables and supplies as well as hosting workshops, classes, and crafting events.
The sewing bee will feature sewing, overlock, and cover stitch machines, alongside dressforms, cutting tables, shears, and ironing stations.
It will also be stocked with a haberdashery, free-to-use sewing supplies and notions, and a library of books, reference materials, and patterns.
Mara Campbell, owner of Reading Sewing Bee, said: “I am excited to provide a space for sewers and crafters to come together and create.
“I believe that sewing is a great way to express yourself creatively, but many eager sewers lack the space to do it comfortably at home.
“Just imagine if you could hire the sewing room from The Great British Sewing Bee to sew your own projects–Reading Sewing Bee is as close as it gets.”
She explained: “I believe that our shared sewing space will provide a much-needed resource for sewers in Reading.
“I am committed to providing a welcoming and creative space where people can come together to learn, create, and share their passion for the textile and fibre arts.”
Reading Sewing Bee will be open at The Maltings, Fobney Street, between 10am-7pm, Tuesday-Saturday, from Tuesday, February 13.
