ONE of the country’s biggest supermarket chains has announced it is to recruit more employees.
Discount chain Aldi is to hire 130 people across Berkshire, as part of its expansion plans.
Roles cover everything from caretaker to store manager, both full- and part-times rolls, and salaries of up to £63,000.
Store assistants wages start at £11 per hour, rising to £11.90 and £12.45. It also pays for breaks.
Vacancies include in Reading and Bracknell, as well as a new store in Slough which will open later this year. The company is also considering a store in Winnersh.
Giles Hurley, chief executive officer of Aldi UK, said: “Demand for Aldi has never been higher as more and more people realise they can make significant savings on every shop without compromising on quality. It’s more important than ever that we are making it even easier for more people to shop with us – including by opening dozens of new stores.
