YOU can’t have failed to have noticed that it’s been a bit wet and cold once again, meaning barbecues have been off limits. That’s not stopping KFC – it has just launched a new burger that it hopes will celebrate barbecue season. And all without enticing a downpour.

The restaurant chain with branches in Lower Earley, Reading town centre and Shinfield, among other locations, has added the Ultimate BBQ Burger to its menu for a limited period.

In fact, come June 9, when it goes off sale, the weather should hopefully have warmed up enough for people to be able to fire up their barbies.

The burger comprises a KFC chicken fillet, paired with fresh lettuce, cheese, and crispy onions.

It is completed with a smoky barbecue sauce and served in a brioche-style bun boasting charred bar markings.

The company says every bite will be juicy and bursting with flavour.

A KFC spokesperson said: “In the UK, we’re no strangers to the whims of the weather, which is why KFC’s new burger delivers a drool-worthy barbecue experience every single time. But you’ll have to be quick because just like British sunshine, when it’s gone, it’s gone.”

The burger launched on Monday, April 29, and is £6.49 – and for the first week of launch, the burger will be exclusively available on delivery via Just Eat and KFC Delivery.

The company recommends combining the burger with its BBQ Bites for only £2.79.

It is also serving an Ultimate BBQ Burger box meal for £9.99.
