AN APRIL special at a Reading restaurant will be a bit Marmite … it’s a pickle lover’s dream and a bit of a nightmare if you hate the slimy green critters.
Honest Burgers, based on the corner of the High Street with Kings Road, is launching the Quattro Pickle-O Burger, on Monday, April 1, and will revolt or delight customers for a very limited period, with customers advised to visit this morning to get them hot off the press.
The company says it is a celebration of the pickle, and showcases the acquired taste among a double smashed patty in four different ways: classic pickles, deep-fried frickles, pickle mayo, and a Heinz Pickle flavour Tomato Ketchup.
Heavenly? Hell?
Honest Burgers Adam Layton feels it is a heartfelt tribute to its homemade pickles, known for their sharpness, sweetness, vibrancy, and crunch.
Crafted with care in the Honest Kitchen, each pickle is meticulously prepared from scratch.
Fresh cucumbers are sliced and steeped in hot cider vinegar infused with mustard seeds and dill, resulting in a pickle that delivers a clean, tangy bite.
“It’s a pickling masterpiece,” the head of food said. “It’s here for a good time, not for a long time.”
