Southern Region Women’s Premier

WOODLEY UNITED were on the end of a heavy defeat on their trip to Winchester City Flyers.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes, a flurry of goals arrived after the restart, five of which went the way of the hosts who collected a 5-1 win.


Thames Valley Women’s Division One

TILEHURST PANTHERS put on another excellent display as they continued their pursuit of the league title.

The Panthers smashed nine past WARGRAVE without reply to earn an exceptional win.

An outstanding afternoon from Georgia Hayes saw her net five goals, while braces from both Lydia Vettese and Leah Why helped Tilehurst to a huge success.

The win puts them three points of current leaders Slough Town and Tilehiurst have four games in hand.


Thames Valley Women’s League Cup

FINCHAMPSTEAD exited the cup at the quarter-final stages after they lost out at home to Wallingford & Crowmarsh.

The visitors scored twice to take a 2-0 lead into half-time before they added another goal quickly after the restart to seal a 3-0 victory.

Finch, who currently lead the way in Thames Valley Women’s Division 3S return to league action this weekend with an away trip to third placed Harefield United.

CAVERSHAM AFC earned a remarkable home win as they dispatched of WARGRAVE RESERVES.

Caversham hit eight goals without reply to earn three points and a clean sheet.

There were hat-tricks for both Madison Bath and Pia Davis as well as goals from Chante Bynoe-Gittens and Katy McNicholas to secure an 8-0 triumph.

Caversham are in fifth position on 27 points, while Wargrave are in 10th on 10 points from 20 games.

AFC READING stay in ninth place after they lost 3-2 away to Harefield United despite a double from Claudia Moya.


Thames Valley Women’s Development

BERKS COUNTY continued their title hunt after they picked up an impressive away win at ARBORFIELD.

The Swords scored six times on their way to keeping a clean sheet.

Kiah Owen was in clinical form as she scored four times, while Jess Brome-Mbaya and Emma Gaywood also netted to help Berks to a 6-0 win.

County are seven points behind league leaders Rotherfield United, but have two games in hand.

WOKINGHAM & EMMBROOK made it 12 wins from 20 with a big win on the road at Stanford-In-The-Vale.

Genevieve Richards netted a treble and Phoebe Fenwick and Rebecca Greig also added to the score to see the Sumas to a 5-1 victory.

Wokingham are in fourth place on 38 points from 20 matches and have just two league games left to play.

BURGHIELD RESERVES are in seventh spot after they were edged out 2-1 by top of the table Rotherfield United.
