Reading FC played out a forgettable 0-0 draw against Luton Town on Tuesday evening.
The Royals were limited to long-range sighters, with Jeff Hendrick and Tyrese Fornah coming closest to getting the visitors on the scoresheet.
The best chance of the night fell to The Hatters’ centre-back Dan Potts, who was unable to direct his side-footed volley goalwards after good work from Cameron Jerome.
Paul Ince’s men will be pleased to come away from Kenilworth Road with a point after a disappointing result on Saturday.
Joe Lumley 6: Forced into two important saves early on. Fumbled a corner, which somehow evaded the onrushing Luton forwards.
Junior Hoilett 6: A quiet display from the Canadian. Rarely ventured forward in an attempt to contain the offensive-minded Bell.
Andy Yiadom 6: Battled hard, using his positional awareness to combat the pace of the dangerous Adebayo.
Tom Holmes 7: Solid. Swept up any balls which came into his zone. An early slip could have proved costly had Cornick been more clinical.
Amadou Mbengue 7: The left-sided centre-back was absolutely everywhere, flying into challenges and headers all game. Was perhaps fortunate not to concede a penalty from a first-half corner, however.
Baba Rahman 5: Got caught out on a number of occasions in behind and did not really have the measure of Cornick. Took a powerful Mpanzu shot to the face early in the second half but soldiered on.
Tom Ince 7: Was the driving force in the midfield with and without the ball. A few decent set piece deliveries could have seen Reading take the lead on a different day.
Jeff Hendrick 6: A competent display from the midfielder who did a lot of the basics well. Could have got on the scoresheet with a shot from distance.
Ovie Ejaria 5: Showed desire to regain possession with some vital interventions but failed to create openings for his teammates.
Yakou Meite 6: Could not capitalise on a great chance to put his side ahead on the half hour mark. Worked hard to put pressure on Luton’s defenders but ultimately could not leave an imprint on the contest.
Andy Carroll 6: Huffed and puffed, winning the majority of his aerial duels, but with little to show for it. Might be a little disappointed to not do better with a couple of half-chances.
Tyrese Fornah 6: Injected energy into the midfield with some attacking impetus. A deflected effort just went over the bar.
