THE CHILDREN’S Business Fair is returning to Reading this weekend.
Following November’s inaugural event, this open-air marketplace returns, bringing 40 stalls run entirely by young entrepreneurs aged 7-17.
The event is supported by Reading’s Business Improvement District (BID), offering a unique opportunity for children to experience the thrill of running their own business in a real-world environment.
Businesses include those offering handmade crafts and bakes, to original artwork and innovative inventions, with every product created, marketed, and sold by the children themselves.
The event celebrates creativity, courage, and community, and is free to attend, so families, shoppers, and anyone who loves discovering something unique can support local talent.
Alexa Volker, Reading BID Manager, said: “Last year’s fair was an incredible success, bringing energy and entrepreneurial spirit to the town centre.
“We’re proud to support this initiative again–it’s so important to give young people the space to explore their ideas, build confidence, and experience the realities of running a business.
“The passion and professionalism they bring is truly inspiring.”
Sam Rogerson, Founder of Children’s Business Fair UK, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Reading again after such a fantastic event last November.
“The energy, creativity and confidence shown by the young entrepreneurs was incredible, and the response from the local community was hugely positive.
“It’s brilliant to be back, showcasing even more young talent right in the heart of the town. Reading is fast becoming a shining example of what happens when you give young people the space to lead, create, and grow.”
The Children’s Business Fair takes place on Broad Street from 10am-4pm on Saturday, July 5.
