FOLLOWING investigation by Thames Valley Police a local man has been sentenced at Reading Crown Court for class A drug offences in Wokingham.
Mohamed Khan, 41, of Clifton Road, Wokingham, pleaded guilty on December 1 to one count each of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs; heroin and crack cocaine.
Khan was sentenced at the same court the following day, December 2, to four years in prison.
Having obtained a warrant to search Khan’s Clifton Road property, police gained entry to the house in the early hours of October 28 this year.
There, they recovered two small deal bags containing 1.43g of heroin, and one sealed bag containing 12.2g of heroin, with a total street value of £1,200.
A black Samsung A23 mobile was also found, which had been used for drug offences between June 1 and October 22 this year.
Khan was arrested during the warrant, and charged the following day.
Investigating officer PC Liam Steele, of the Berkshire West Proactive team, said: “The production and supply of drugs causes harm within our communities and results in the exploitation of vulnerable people.
“As a result of this investigation, we have taken thousands of pounds-worth of drugs off the street.
“Our team will pro-actively target and prosecute offenders, with both visible and covert activity, aimed at disrupting those involved in the supply of drugs.
“Information from the public around the drug supply offences in Reading plays an important role in developing intelligence into a pro-active investigation.”
