Rob Couhig sent a message to the Reading FC fans alerting them that he will be attending the team’s League One home opener on Saturday.
It is expected that Couhig will complete his purchase of the club from Dai Yongge within the coming days.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Couhig said: “Todd, Todd, jr, Amy, Missy and I are excited to watch Reading FC v Wigan Athletic (on) Saturday. Weather and football should be great. We hope it’s the start of a great relationship with the town, fc, and supporters, Up The Ding!”
The long ongoing takeover saga looks finally set to come to an end as Reading fans expressed their sense of optimism over the future of the club and the upcoming season.
The American businessman was chairman at Wycombe Wanderers FC for five years and tried to purchase Reading’s Bearwood Park training ground during that time. He stepped down from his role at Wycombe at the end of last season.
The Royals made an impressive start to the league campaign as they were just minutes away from taking three points at promotion favourites Birmingham City, but instead had to settle for a point after they awarded a late, controversial penalty.
