READING FC manager Ruben Selles confirmed that the club are still working on a couple of transfers before the window closes on Friday.

With just a few days to go, the Royals boss said that the club is working on both incomings and outgoings.

“We have some situations and we are working on a couple of players,” said Selles.

“I don’t expect a big, massive change.”

When questioned about the future of Andy Caroll, who is rumoured to be on his way to French side Amiens after being omitted from the matchday squad once again, Selles said: “Not yet (we don’t have an update). If we have any news on his future to communicate with you then we will do it.

“We are working on a couple of positions, potentially a forward.”

Selles was pleased with the attitude of his side who took Championship side Ipswich Town to penalties before they lost out in the shootout.

He said: “It was a very tough game but we made it a tough game as a team. The boys did an exceptional job and showed what they can do.

“Some of their players it was the first time in that situation so we take it as a learning process.

“We have a very healthy dressing room. Some of them have been educated together and want to play together. When you have that kind of environment, it’s a pleasure for the coach.”
