Are you passionate about volunteering in the heart of your local community and driven by making a difference? Then Citizens Advice Wokingham is the organisation for you. Our advice helps people solve problems in a confidential and impartial manner. Whatever the problem, we won’t turn people away. We make a difference. Our trusted brand and the quality of our research mean we make a real impact on behalf of the people who rely on us. We are looking for a Volunteer Receptionist/Admin to join our team at our office in Wokingham Town Centre. As the first point of contact for all clients, this is a key

volunteering role which makes a huge contribution to the work of our office. You will help us to provide a welcoming face to all visitors and help us to manage enquiries. Experience is not necessary, but we are looking for individuals who; are friendly and approachable, have administration skills and/or reception experience and are experienced in working or volunteering with a diverse range of people and providing a welcoming environment for clients.

The Wokingham Transport Scheme needs you! All you need is your own car – there is no cost to you as we reimburse all your expenses. We are looking for drivers who can provide transport for older people to attend vital medical appointments such hospitals, local doctors, dentists, opticians, physiotherapists. drivers who can help with one off social trips (such as shopping and visiting friends/family in hospital/care homes etc.) and more regular social trips (such as to a lunch club or activity which may involve dropping them of and picking them up later rather than waiting with them) Time commitment can be very flexible. If you live in Wokingham, Finchampstead, Crowthorne, Winnersh or Barkham and you would like to help, please get in touch! You must have a full driving licence and own car. No specialist car insurance is needed. Unfortunately, we cannot take on any new volunteers aged under 21 or over 80 due to insurances purposes. You really can make a difference to our clients’ lives!

Sight loss can take away independence and confidence, and leave those affected isolated. Berkshire Vision supports hundreds of visually impaired children and adults, helping them to live their lives to the full. Helping our members to be independent is important to us. We have many volunteer roles available. These include volunteering as a Realeyes Guide. As a Realeyes Guide for Berkshire Vision you will be matched with one of our visually impaired members to help them accomplish a goal that will help them become more independent. Some examples include guiding and supporting them to learn and practice a route to the local coffee shop or gym, to navigate a route to the train station, to get a bus into town or to practice the route to work or college. We are also looking for Sports and Activities volunteers, Telephone befrienders, Tech buddies and Information and Event volunteers. For more information on how you can get involved, please get in touch.

If you are interested in any of these roles or would like to discuss volunteering in general, please get in touch with our Volunteer Services Manager, Helena Badger on 0118 977 0749 or email volunteer@wok-vol.org.uk.
