Can you listen, empathise, and communicate? Would you like to make a difference and learn new skills? The Advocacy People are recruiting Volunteer Advocates! You will play a vital role in providing one-to-one advocacy for vulnerable people, making sure that their views are put across.
You may be asked to: organise client visits, meet with the client at their place of residence, participate in best interest meetings.
Throughout your time working with them you will be fully supported by an experienced advocate.
Refugee Support Group’s mission is to improve the lives of Refugees and people seeking asylum, providing support, advice, promotion, awareness and facilitating integration for the local community.
They are looking for a friendly individual to be the first point of contact for clients during their Monday morning drop-ins, which runs at 10.30am-1pm.
Duties will include welcoming and signing in clients, recording confidential information, and ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.
An ability to maintain professional boundaries is required.
Knowledge of other languages such as: Kurdish, Dari, Pashto, or Arabic is desirable but not essential.
Berkshire Scouts supports Scouting in more than a hundred communities across Berkshire providing fun, challenge and adventure for more than 10,000 young people aged four to 25.
They are seeking a volunteer to join their Scout Group Trustees, working together to make sure that they: manage money well by having a budget in place, follow policies and relevant legislation, create the trustees’ annual report and statement of accounts, look after buildings, insurance and property and more.
Commitments would include four meetings a year plus attendance at their AGM.
You would be a part of your local community and get experience in areas of charity governance.
