The Me2 Club is a local charity that supports children with additional needs and disabilities in the Wokingham and Reading Boroughs, helping children attend mainstream activities such as uniform groups, sports clubs and drama groups.
They are recruiting volunteers in the Berkshire area to help even more children! Volunteers will be matched with a member of the club on a one-to-one basis to support them with activities!
The Me2 Club can work with volunteers to help find a time and location that suits you. Their next sessions of Volunteer Induction Training happens on Monday, November 20 and Wednesday, November 22, between 5pm and 9pm both days.
Compass Recovery College is a mental health and wellbeing organisation based in Reading that provides free workshops and social groups for anyone in the area aged 18 or over who may be affected directly or indirectly by mental health or wellbeing challenges.
They are looking for volunteers to join them as a Peer Supporter.
You would be supporting participants in their Coffee and Chat drop-in sessions and workshops to provide a friendly ear to those attending, giving them confidence to express themselves.
Good communication skills are crucial because in addition to providing companionship and chatting with the participants, volunteers will be expected to relay any concerns or issues to Compass Staff. Also as a Compass Recovery College volunteer, you will be given a full induction when you start!
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Oxfam and they are currently seeking more for their Charity Shops in Reading.
More specifically they are seeking volunteers to join their Books and Music Shops.
As a volunteer, you’ll help them make the most of donations and keep their customers coming back for more. Volunteers can keep busy behind the scenes, sorting, researching, and pricing donations. Or, if preferred, you can be on the shop floor serving customers and directly helping donors.
Some people like to focus on their speciality and some like to try a bit of everything. It’s up to you.
You don’t need to have any experience.
The staff will give you all the training and support you need so you will develop your skills as part of their team. You can also get some lunch there and travel costs too.
