St Mungo’s is a charity dedicated to ending homelessness.
Volunteers play a crucial role in helping people recover from homelessness and the experience, skills and knowledge they bring make a real difference to the lives of people they work with.
They are currently looking for more First Response Volunteers to join them in the Reading area. Volunteers will be: Working with a partner volunteer to locate referrals and identify those who are rough sleeping, Passing information about referrals to the Outreach team to follow up on and more.
Initially, you will not be directly interacting with those rough sleeping, although the role does offer training on this if you are interested.
Time commitment expected from volunteers is one shift per month on either Mondays or Fridays, 6am-10am. You can change the day you do each month; it is a very flexible role.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Oxfam and they are currently seeking more for their Charity Shops in Reading.
More specifically they are seeking volunteers to join their Books and Music Shops.
As a volunteer, you’ll help them make the most of donations and keep their customers coming back for more. Volunteers can keep busy behind the scenes, sorting, researching, and pricing donations.
Or, if preferred, you can be on the shop floor serving customers and directly helping donors.
Some people like to focus on their speciality and some like to try a bit of everything. It’s up to you.
You don’t need to have any experience.
The staff will give you all the training and support you need so you will develop your skills as part of their team.
You can also get some lunch there and travel costs too.
Berkshire Vision provides vital practical and friendly support, sport and activities to visually impaired children and adults, and their families in Berkshire.
Berkshire Vision wants to recruit more Rambling Guide volunteers.
Guides will walk alongside their visually impaired members, assisting them throughout the walk or offering general support.
Time commitment is flexible, allowing you to participate on weeks you can manage or on a regular basis every two weeks on Wednesdays.
No prior knowledge of sight loss is required, as training is provided and we can arrange for you to take the Level 1 Sighted Guide qualification.
