MEMBERS of The Reading Branch of The Berkshire Family History Society (BFHS) will be able to hear about Victorians and Entertainment at their next meeting.
They will be joined by Dr Judith Hill, a freelance lecturer and researcher, who will be giving her insights into the hobbies and entertainments of a bygone era.
She will be talking about the music hall, the seaside, football and other pastimes, as attendees discover how the Victorians turned enjoyment for all into big business.
The BFHS is a charity that helps family historians trace their ancestors, giving members access to experts in local, social and family history.
Free family history advice sessions are open to all, with regular drop in advice sessions at Bracknell and Wokingham Libraries – no booking required.
Dr Hill’s talk can be heard on Thursday, January 29 at 7.45pm.
It will be given on Zoom from 7.15pm and is free to members.
A donation of £5 is requested from non-members.
Pre-booking is essential with links to the event emailed a day before.
