UTC congratulates students on ‘fantastic success stories’ during A-Level results day

STUDENTS at UTC Reading are joining those around the country collecting their A-Level results today.

Of grades awarded, 16% were an A or A* and 32% were a B grade or higher.

C grades or above represented 51% of grades awarded.

Of the BTEC Diplomas awarded, 71% were Distinctions or higher in Engineering, and 100% of Extended Certificate Engineering students passed their qualifications

Mehrollah Shah Bakhsh achieved three A* grades and an A, and will now go on to study Physics at Oxford University.

Alice Griebeg achieved three Bs, one each in Biology, Physics and Maths, and has already started a degree apprenticeship at a national defence company.

Headteacher Jennie Thomson said: “We are extremely proud of the results that students have achieved today.

“There are fantastic success stories across our whole Year 13 group with both A Level and BTEC courses and I am very proud of all of our students.

“Despite some really challenging circumstances over the last two years, students have shown excellent awareness, confidence and resilience and this is shown in their fantastic outcomes today, I wish all of them the best of luck in their next step to their future.”
