TWO NEW toy stores are opening in Reading this week, shops within a shop, as The Entertainer launches a new partnership with Tesco.

First to launch will be the Tesco Reading West Extra store on Portman Road. This opens on Wednesday, May 29. The following day, the shelves will be groaning with fun at the Reading Extra store in Napier Road.

Customers are promised leading brands including Barbie, Lego, Hot Wheels, Peppa Pig, and Paw Patrol. There will also be Early Learning Centre items, and Addo toys – The Entertainer’s exclusive range.

Across the country, The Entertainer is setting up shop in 750 Tesco stores, creating 1,000 jobs, and follows a year-long trial.

Kerry Vaughan, regional area manager at The Entertainer, said the company was delighted:

“It will bring some of our magic directly to families and children right in the heart of the local community.”

The sentiment was echoed by Jan Marchant, managing director of home and clothing at Tesco, who said: “We’re really excited to be bringing The Entertainer to Tesco stores across the UK, introducing even more customers to the great range of toys and making it easier for customers to pick up a gift for their little ones in store.”
