TWO women have been arrested following a large disturbance in Reading’s Newtown last week – minutes after the school run.
The incident took place around 3.30pm on Wednesday, September 13, in Leopold Walk, which is close to a primary school’s playing fields, and the Kennetside tow path.
Thames Valley Police said an estimated dozen people were involved, and a knife was located.
There were no injuries, despite police arresting a 32-year-old Reading woman and a 25-year-old Hackney woman on suspicion of assault. They have been released on bail until Wednesday, December 6.
Investigating officer PC Ben Cunningham, based at Reading police station, said: “This incident occurred in the middle of the afternoon and I’m appealing to anybody who witnessed it or has information that can assist the investigation to please get in touch with us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, mobile phone or other footage of the incident to contact the force.
