Thames Valley Positive Support (TVPS), the Berkshire-based HIV charity that’s been supporting people since 1985, is officially launching their digital archive on 1st July, as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations.
TVPS is continuing to collect stories, memories and memorabilia right up until World AIDS Day (1st December 2025), and is calling on anyone connected to the charity to get involved.
The archive, available to view via the TVPS website, brings together four decades of resilience, activism, support and community spirit. From early days on the frontline of the epidemic to the present day, it’s a tribute to the people who have shaped the charity and the lives it has touched.
To kick off the celebrations in true TVPS style, the charity has unveiled a brand-new mural at their centre in Slough. Created by Allan, one of TVPS’s positive service users, the mural is a vibrant and moving tribute to the HIV community, past, present and future.
Sarah Macadam, CEO of TVPS, said: “Reaching 40 years and launching our archive is a huge milestone for us, but this isn’t a finished product, we want it to grow and reflect the rich, lived experiences of everyone who’s been part of the TVPS story. If you, a loved one, or someone you remember has a connection to our work, please get in touch. Every memory matters.”
You can view the archive and find out how to contribute by visiting tvps.org.uk, emailing office@tvps.org.uk or calling 01628 603400. Whether it’s a photo, a story, a letter or just a memory you’d like to share, TVPS would love to hear from you.
