A new true crime event, MURDER:STAGED, is coming to Reading, promising a night of forensic insight, crime scene reconstructions, and a live psychopathy test.
The show will take place at Reading Rep Theatre on Thursday 26 March at 19:30 GMT.
Hosted by serial killer and psychopathy expert Cheish Merryweather, who has appeared on BBC programmes, the two-hour talk will explore staged murders and the psychology behind them.
Merryweather said the event will examine “the ‘CSI effect’ and how it has created a new type of killer – one that is forensically aware and is out to mislead an investigation.”
Audiences will also take part in a live psychopathy quiz designed to measure the collective traits of attendees, with a city-specific score generated at each stop on the tour. “The live psychopath test is a great way to find out who we really should be keeping a close eye on,” Merryweather explained.
The evening will feature in-depth forensic analysis, reconstructed real-life crime scene walkthroughs, and discussions of some of the most shocking cases. The show is recommended for ages 16 and over and includes a 20-minute interval.
Tickets for the Reading performance are available through the theatre’s box office.
