READING FC have confirmed the signing of former Stuttgart player Clinton Mola on transfer deadline day.
He joins the Royals on a free transfer after his contract with VfB Stuttgart was terminated last week by mutual consent.
Ruben Selles continues to revamp the Royals squad as Mola becomes the second deadline day signing after young striker Dom Ballard joined from Southampton on a season long loan deal.
Mola is a versatile player who has been used as a left-back, centre-back and central midfielder.
The 22-year-old spent five years with Chelsea’s academy before he made the move to VfB Stuttgart in January 2020.
He made a total of eight league appearances in the German second division in the 2019/20 campaign as Stuttgart won promotion to the Bundesliga.
Mola joined Blackburn Rovers on loan last season and made four Championship appearances for them.
