Reading FC have completed the loan signing of forward Billy Bodin on loan from Burton Albion until the end of the season.
The Royals’ only activity this transfer window had been to extend Chem Campbell’s loan deal, while Sam Smith departed to join Wrexham last week.
However, Noel Hunt’s team were able to add another forward to their ranks to try and replace Smith as Bodin joins until the end of the campaign from fellow League One side Burton.
The 32-year-old started his career at Swindon Town and has played for a whole host of EFL clubs including: Torquay United, Bristol Rovers, Preston North End and Oxford United.
His most prolific spell came with Bristol Rovers where he netted 35 times in 95 games for the Gas from 2015-2018.
Bodin has made 12 League One appearances for Burton this season and has scored four goals.
Reading manager Noel Hunt said: “I’m really pleased to bring Billy into the squad for the rest of the season. He’s an experienced player who knows this league well and has proven his quality over the years.
“He’ll give us another attacking option, with his work rate, creativity and eye for goal will be a real asset to the team. We’re looking forward to working with him.”
