A NEW cafe has opened in the heart of one of Reading’s busiest roads, and is offering a special treat for Reading Today readers.

Time 4 Coffee has opened its doors to customers, providing speciality coffee and Portuguese pastries from the centre of Oxford Road.

It also offers milkshakes, juice, and bubble tea, with the option to sit in store or to take away with you.

Karim Acabarali, owner and barista at the cafe, said: “We saw a real necessity for a coffee shop in the area, and we want to bring a bit of the Portuguese culture to it.

“That means nice coffee and the best cakes of Portugal, including the famous Natas, which we bake fresh here every day.

“We also provide classic bread and pastries, and we’re even thinking of bringing savoury food soon, too.”

The family who owns the cafe has been part of the community for more than a decade; Karim has previously owned a Portuguese restaurant, also on Oxford Road.

“It’s so nice to be able to have it all in one place,” he explained, “and so far the response has been really great and very positive.”

He has also put on a special offer for our readers, who can claim a free pasteis de nata, a classic custard tart created and hugely popular in Portugal.

Simply mention Reading Today at the counter this weekend (Saturday-Sunday, August 5-6) to claim your free pasteis de nata, subject to availability.

Time 4 Coffee is open from 8am daily at 337 Oxford Road, Reading.
