AN UNEXPLAINED death in Tilehurst last week has been determined as not suspicious, Thames Valley Police has announced.
It comes after a 28-year-old woman died in hospital after an incident on the riverbank behind Tilehurst Station at around 11.30pm on Sunday, August 24.
A 39-year-old man from Reading, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has now been released without charge, and nobody else is being sought in connection with the death.
A Home Office post-mortem examination found the woman’s cause of death as inconclusive with further tests required, but her death is not deemed to be suspicious.
The woman’s next of kin have now been informed and are receiving support.
The scene by the riverbank has been stood down and a file is being prepared for the coroner, who will be responsible for confirming her identity.
