Three boys arrested in robbery and assault investigation in Reading

Three boys from Reading have been arrested in connection with a robbery and assault in the town.

The arrests are in connection with an incident on Monday, June 16th where a 15-year-old boy was assaulted in Prospect Park and sustained a broken jaw and was robbed of personal items.

The three boys were arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday on suspicion of robbery and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. They have since been released on police bail.

The victim of the assault was treated in hospital and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Josh Gillespie of the Reading Priority Crime Team said: “We continue to investigate this violent and seemingly unprovoked assault and robbery and have now made arrests.

“I would again ask anybody who was in Prospect Park at around 12.45pm on 16 June and witnessed the incident, or who may have information to assist this investigation, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
