THE OLLIE Young Foundation (OYF) held its popular annual summer fundraising event this weekend, drawing in families from all around the area.

The Ollie Young Fun Day once again proved to be a great day out for all ages.

Ollie’s mother and founder of OYF Sarah Simpson, said: “It was a fabulous afternoon.

“The weather was great, and everything came together, thanks to our wonderful team of volunteers – our Olliettes.”

Visitors were treated to a lively atmosphere filled with games, stalls, and a range of exciting activities.

This year’s event featured fresh attractions, including new games, inflatables, classic cars, and circus skills.

“We’ve had great feedback from people who enjoyed the classic car show, and really positive comments from new stall holders,” continued Sarah.

“There was a really good mix of stalls and activities, with plenty of silly games that children love, and lots for the grown ups to enjoy too.”

Families browsed stalls showcasing personalized pieces, handmade crafts, and jewelry from local makers, while children were able to enjoy face-painting, an aerialist performance, and a seaside-themed photo board.

“I’d like to give a shout out from myself and Ollie’s dad, Simon, to all our Olliettes, who give us such an abundance of help,” she said.

“They are a truly amazing team, and we’d like to say a huge thank you.

“We ask a lot of them, and we’re amazed and delighted that they come back again and again to make this event happen.

“We simply couldn’t do any of this without them.”

The OYF is inspired by the memory of Ollie Young, who died at the age of five as a result of a brain tumour.

The charity raises funds for research into treatment, and finding a cure for childhood brain tumour.

This year’s event continued that mission, with all proceeds supporting the foundation’s work.

“It’s hard work setting up the event, but it’s great, on the day, to see so many kids running around having fun,” said Sarah.
