The brew-tiful game: Krispy Kreme giving away up to 225,000 doughnuts to footie fans across England match days (don’t worry, they’re not all for one person)

Krispy Kreme is giving away up to 225,000 doughnuts to footie fans across England match days. During the group stage and the round of 16, all fans have to do is present their Krispy Kreme Rewards app and be one of the first 10 customers in a shop to claim a cuppa and an Original Glazed dozen. And as the tournament hots up, so does the generosity, with even more doughnuts up for grabs as the competition progresses.

THE women’s World Cup is well underway, and England enjoyed success in their opening match on Saturday.

It is, like the men’s tournament, bringing people together. But with these matches taking place in Australia and New Zealand, kick-off times Down Under mean they are screened during the mornings over here.

So rather than a beer with the game, a lot of people will prefer a sweeter treat and a cup of coffee.

Enter stage right, Krispy Kreme.

The doughnut firm with a base in The Oracle is rewarding fans during England’s group stage match days.

The first 10 people in every shop on these days will receive a free hot drink and an Original Glazed dozen of doughnuts to share with friends while watching the match (there’s no free drink in stores that don’t serve drinks).

As the tournament continues, if England do well Krispy Kreme says its giveaways will get more generous, with 50 free boxes up for grabs if they make it to the final.

During the group stage and the round of 16, all fans have to do is present their Krispy Kreme Rewards app and be one of the first 10 customers in-store to claim a cuppa and an Original Glazed dozen to share with their fellow fans.

A spokesperson said: “Here’s hoping for another successful year for the England team, as more matches mean more opportunities for doughnut lovers to enjoy a free OG Dozen and cup of tea to sit back and enjoy the brew-tiful game.”

England’s next game is Friday, July 28, and then again on Tuesday, August 1.
