To celebrate the festive period, Thatcham Garden Centre has donated a light-up reindeer to Dingley’s Promise in West Berks as part of its Christmas Magic community campaign.
The campaign which was run by the UK’s largest family-run group, British Garden Centres, saw residents from the local area asked to nominate a worthy group, garden, charity or hospice that has gone above and beyond to receive the reindeer to light up the community and spread festive cheer.
Zoe Cox nominated Dingley’s Promise for the competition saying: ” I would like to nominate Dingley’s Promise in Newbury for a light-up reindeer for their children’s centre, which supports children and families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the local area. At Dingley’s Promise, we are passionate about giving every child with SEND in their early years the best possible start in life. Sensory play is central to our approach to nurturing the development of children with SEND. A light-up reindeer in our outdoor play area would provide a magical sensory experience, bringing joy and happiness to the children we care for.”
Amy Stubbs, Project and Development Manager at British Garden Centres said, “We are incredibly proud of the active role British Garden Centres plays in its local communities, and that’s particularly important at this time of year. We are delighted to donate this light reindeer as a symbol of joy, Christmas magic, and community spirit during the festive season.”
