THAMES Valley Police has appointed a new commander for Reading’s Local Policing Area, as Superintendent Colin Hudson has been selected to succeed Superintendent Steve Raffield.
Supt Hudson joined Thames Valley Police following his career in technology, research, and development, and began working as a response officer in Berkshire.
He was appointed the Local Policing Are |Commander for Windsor and Maidenhead, during which time he oversaw policing during the Royal Wedding in 2018.
He was then selected to lead the Roads Policing department which served Thames Valley and Hampshire, which he served for more than three-and-a-half years.
Speaking about his appointment, Supt Hudson said: “I am really pleased to be appointed as Commander for Reading and look forward to serving the diverse range of communities of the area.
“I have worked in the area as a Response Officer, and before my move into policing.
“I am keen to continue and build on the work across the town, working closely with local partners, communities and businesses to keep Reading the safe and vibrant place to live and work that I know it is.”
