CHILDREN in Reading were treated to two weeks of fun-filled creative activities this summer.
The Whitley Community Centre played host to the sessions between Monday, August 1, and Thursday, August 11, immersing youngsters in a plethora of new experiences.
Designed by the Whitley Community Development Association, each day had its own unique theme.
Motivational Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday and Theatrical Thursday certain to captivate visitors’ imaginations.
Community development worker Maria Cox was part of the organising team. Of the events she said: “We got a grant from the Lottery Fund to do the activities.
“We also had help from local organisations Berzerk Productions, Tina Kersley School of Dance, Kazoku Karate-Do, Donna Arts and Crafts and Whitley Researchers.
“Each child received a free lunch, not just children with holiday activities and food (HAF) codes.”
Sessions took place between 10am-2pm on each day.
