A CHARITY invited Reading residents to celebrate the lives of loved ones and remember those lost last week.
Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice hosted the Celebrate a Life Thames Valley event at the University of Reading’s Great Hall.
Residents were invited to honour the memory of those lost with readings, poems, and performances from professional pianist Anita D’Attellis, led by Sue Ryder head of family support, Ken Blanton.
They were also able to make a dedication in the memory of a loved one to be displayed on the Celebrate a Life wall.
The event was attended by the mayor of Reading, Cllr Tony Page.
Hannah Richards, community fundraising manager at Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice, said: “It was a very moving evening, where we were able to stop and pay tribute to the lives of friends and family who have died.
“It was wonderful to see so many people from Berkshire join us for an evening of reflection and we hope it gave people space to have the lives of their loved ones acknowledged.”
Those unable to attend the event in person are still able to make their own personal dedication via Sue Ryder’s online dedication wall, available via: sueryder.dedicationpage.org/celebrate-a-life.
