AN EXHIBITION marking the 75th anniversary of the Empire Windrush’s voyage from the Caribbean to England is still on show.
Organised by the Reading Caribbean Associations Group, Windrush Lives looks at the way people have made their home in the town since arriving here in the summer of 1948.
The Windrush ship carried a generation of young black men and women prepared to travel across the seas to help Britain rebuild itself after the Second World War.
The exhibition, on display at Reading Museum in Blagrave Street until Saturday, November 4, features treasured family keepsakes, pictures and spoken word contributions.
It has been organised in partnership with ACRE and Age UK Berkshire, and supported with grants from Reading Borough Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Entry is free, and the exhibition can be viewed during usual museum opening times.
