As of the 2024 season, St Anthony’s GAA Men’s team will be playing Gaelic Football in Hertfordshire, following a switch from London GAA.
St Anthony’s, based in Reading, have played in London for the duration of their 60 year history.
A representative from the club said: “We are immensely proud of this tradition and the contribution we have made to the life of the GAA in London.
“We would like to thank the London County Board and the member clubs who recognised the need for St Anthonys to make a move and facilitated this accordingly.
“We value the spirit of friendship and competition of clubs in London and will remain supporters of the work that is undertaken there.
“We would also like to thank Croke Park and the Provincial Council of Britain for enabling this move to take place and, in particular, would like to thank Hertfordshire GAA for the warm welcome and opportunity to compete in the county and grow the sport in Reading and its surrounds.
“We are hopeful that this move will help rejuvenate the club, deliver more competitive fixtures and allow the game to thrive in the town well into the future.
“We are excited to welcome teams to Kingsmeadow this season and are hopeful to be able to offer youth football once again.”
