A WOKINGHAM family event is set to make its long-awaited comeback in September having been forced to cancel three years in a row due to the pandemic and death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Spencers Wood Carnival, which debuted in 2007, will return to the Recreation Ground, Clares Green Road, on Saturday, September 16.
The community event brings together those from the village and surrounding areas for an afternoon of funfair activities, live performances and food.
Co-organiser Debbie Johnson took to social media, and said: “12 weeks to go, it’s so exciting and we can’t wait.
“If you’re an independent local business or charity, please get in touch. We still have a few stall spaces available.”
She added that donations for raffle prizes will be greatly appreciated.
Barring the past three years, the not-for-profit event has run every year since its inception and it has two new co-organisers, Rosie Johnson and Katie Harber.
Visitors are asked to bring donations for a local food bank, if they are able to.
The carnival will run from noon-9pm.
