POLICE are appealing specific witness following a fatal road traffic collision in Reading last week.
At around 7.55am on Friday 27 June, a blue Volkswagen Tiguan was involved in a collision with two pedestrians on Peppard Road near the junction of Cedar Wood Crescent.
Two women, a70-year-old and a 68-year old, both died at the scene.
A 47-year-old woman from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and was subsequently released under investigation while enquiries are ongoing.
Now police are appealing for a specific witness to come forward to aid the investigation, a taxi driver who is believed to have stopped at the scene.
Investigating officer PS Matthew Cadmore of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are continuing our investigation following this collision and my thoughts remain with the families of those who died.
“We are aware that a taxi driver stopped at the scene following the incident, but at this time we have not been able to speak to him as a witness.
“As such, if you were the taxi driver who stopped at the scene, we would ask you to please come forward with any information you can provide.
“Additionally we would ask anyone who was driving in the area at the time to please review their dash-cam footage and get in touch if it shows anything that may assist our investigation.
