Specially trained officers were deployed in Reading town centre on Tuesday as part of Project Servator, a national policing initiative aimed at preventing and detecting crime.
During the operation, officers carried out several stop-and-searches, resulting in one arrest for shoplifting.
Project Servator deployments are intelligence-led and highly visible, designed to deter criminal activity while providing reassurance to the public.
Thames Valley Police thanked members of the public who engaged positively with officers and encouraged anyone who notices suspicious behaviour to report it. In an emergency, people are advised to call 999, or 101 for non-urgent incidents.
