A 59-year-old man has died in a Reading car park, and police are advising people to avoid the area.

The incident took place on New Year’s Day at the Riverside car park to The Oracle shopping centre.

Thames Valley Police said that the man’s family are being supported by specially trained officers, and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The area has been sealed off, with a cordon preventing people from returning to their cars while police conduct their investigation.

In a statement on social media, Thames Valley Police said: “We are currently dealing with an incident at The Oracle shopping centre car park in Reading.

“Sadly, a 59-year-old man has died. His next of kin have been made aware and are being offered support. Our thoughts are with them.
