NINE projects across the Thames Valley have benefited from a day of giving organised by employees of SEGRO.

The firm, which owns and manages more than 800 industrial units in the region, chose to help schemes that focus on improving communities and the environment.

More than 120 people took part in the day, with projects including cleaning the riverside at Jubilee River in Slough, helping Swan Lifeline in Eton, and improving a cafe garden at Wexham Park hospital.

Neil Impiazzi, partnership development director at SEGRO, was pleased with how the day had gone.

“Our annual ‘Day of Giving’ is a great way for SEGRO colleagues to come together, give back and support charities that make a significant difference to people’s lives,” he said.

“Community investment has been part of SEGRO’s DNA for over 100 years and remains at our core through the Responsible SEGRO commitments we announced last year. We will continue to work with our charity partners to better understand local needs and enable our communities to thrive.”

SEGRO’s annual ‘Day of Giving’ was set up in 2016. All 385+ of SEGRO’s employees across all its locations in the UK and Continental Europe are encouraged to take part. Last year, employees in Poznań and Warsaw came together for Poland’s Day of Giving, where they picked up 160 bags of rubbish from the surroundings of Stefański Pond in Łódź.

Meanwhile, SEGRO’s team in Germany partnered with Plant-My-Tree to support tree planting in Feading’s twin town of Dusseldorf, where every column built in the company’s Northern Europe business unit will be offset with one tree planted.
